THE GREEN GAZETTE

The New Mexico Environment Department Newsletter

Welcome to the "new" NMED.  Senior Staff have developed and are now guided by three guiding principles of environmental holism, diversity, and a high-performance workforce, as well as uncovering intangible accomplishments that can help them get closer to these goals.

The newsletter you are about to look at realizes one of these accomplishments.  This has become a vehicle that highlights a revamped employee recognition program, as well as an orientation on our mission, programs, projects, goals and procedures for new and old department staff alike.  It is the editor's sincere hope that this effort will help us work together to achieve our common goals.

NMED is the most diverse agency in our State's government, with responsibilities for everything from health concerns at a Portales Dairy Queen to radioactive waste issues at Los Alamos National Laboratory.  The breadth and quality of our work in all of these areas are reflected throughout the various issues of this newsletter.

Taken singularly, each one of these accomplishments lay a great foundation for the future.  Let's build on that foundation throughout the coming years and show the Citizens of the Great State of New Mexico that "...they ain't seen nothin' yet!"
