The New Mexico Environment Department DOE Oversight Bureau's activities are supported by an Agreement-In-Principle between the State of New Mexico and the United States Department of Energy.

Program Goal
The United States Department of Energy (DOE) Oversight Program's goal is to help assure that activities at DOE facilities are protective of public health and safety and the environment.

Ground Water Bureau -- (505) 827-2918

To protect ground water quality and minimize existing and potential ground water contamination.

 

Hazardous Waste Bureau -- (505) 428-2500

To regulate all present hazardous waste management activities in order to prevent environmental degradation.

 

Surface Water Quality Bureau -- (505) 827-0187

To protect the quality of surface waters (lakes, streams, and wetlands).
