Zia Star Voluntary
Protection Program

The State of New Mexico formally adopted a Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)
on February 14, 2001. The Zia Star Voluntary Protection Program is New Mexico's version of the
Federal OSHA Voluntary Protection Program. The elements of the program
mirror Federal OSHA's, except that New Mexico will be working with Star quality
general industry sites only. Woody Norwood, Compliance Assistance
Specialist, has been working closely with
Region VI on the development and implementation of the program.
The New Mexico team is excited to be a part of VPP and is
looking forward to working with potential Zia Star sites. For further
