The NMED Information Technology Division is responsible for and oversees the following services:
Technical Services: responsible for maintaining the department’s technical and telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring the secure and efficient operation of the department’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and data center, while providing technical support to the department’s business units. Technical Services supports both the department’s disaster recovery and the state’s IT consolidation activities.
Application Services: responsible for supporting all mission critical and EPA-mandated information systems, developing new information systems as approved by the department’s acting CIO, maintaining and enhancing existing information systems, and supporting the NMED website and Intranet. Application Services supports the USEPA central data exchange node.
