Approval Letter The Río Puerco Watershed Part Two TMDL includes
TMDL planning documents for aluminum,
plant nutrients and temperature. SWQB announced a 32-Day Public
Comment Period for the DRAFT Río Puerco Watershed TMDL beginning on
June 5th, 2007. Responses were accepted until
5:00pm MDT July 6th, 2007. |

Two public meetings were held to
summarize the information and to provide a forum for interested parties
to ask questions and provide comments. One
meeting was held on Wednesday, June 20th
at the Senior Citizen’s Center in Cuba, and another meeting was held on Thursday, June 21st
at the County Courthouse in Grants.
All comments and SWQB
responses were incorporated into a final draft
version which
was approved by the Water Quality Control Commission (WQCC)
at their Tuesday,
August 14th,
2007 meeting. The US EPA reviewed and
approved the subsequent
draft version of the TMDL
without further changes on September 21st, 2007.
