The Stewart Meadows Project is part of a larger effort in the Southern Mountain Bird Conservation Region to develop, improve, and protect a system of wetland habitats on the Tres Piedras Ranger District of the Carson National Forest.

This project will complete wetland restoration for 325 acres in the Rio San Antonio floodplain by:

Dispersing flow from arroyos onto floodplain terraces;

Maintaining and further restoring an existing impoundment;

Bulleted item...

Improving fences that restrict cattle;

Bulleted item... Providing wetland and riparian planting and seeding; and
Bulleted item... Maintaining the ditch system that provides water to the Stewart Meadows complex.
Additional objectives are to:
