Restoration of San Antonio Creek may include the use of vanes, baffles, weirs, and planting riparian vegetation.

A migrating headcut in Alamo Canyon is causing destruction of habitat for the bog birch. Restoration of this habitat may include headcut structures including worm ditches, Zuni bowls, and log and fabric step falls.

Restoration of the slope wetlands habitat near La Jara Creek may include installing French drains and creating a new design structure.

Riparian vegetation planting will occur after design installation to assist in the success of the structures.  Electric fencing will also be installed where grazing occurs in the project area (along San Antonio Creek) to eliminate cattle disturbance to the project site.

Volunteers from the Valles Caldera Coalition, Los Amigos, the Valles Caldera Trust, and other interested individuals will learn  restoration techniques and will assist in installation of structures to improve conditions along San Antonio Creek.
